DESCRIPTION

Mutant proudly presents Academy Award®–winning composer Michael Giacchino’s Exotic Themes for the Silver Screen – Volume 2, the latest installment in his celebrated lounge-inspired reimagining series. Featuring iconic scores from Giacchino’s career between 2012 and 2022, this collection showcases themes that have been exclusively rearranged and re-recorded in a retro 1950s and 1960s lounge style.

Volume 2 spans an extraordinary range of Giacchino’s work, including major collaborations with Marvel Studios such as the Marvel Studios Fanfare, Spider-Man, and Doctor Strange, alongside beloved Disney•Pixar scores for Inside Out, Coco, and Lightyear. The album also explores cult favorites like John Carter and Tomorrowland, as well as more intimate and personal films including Jojo Rabbit and The Book of Henry.

Additional highlights include ‘The Batman Suite’ from Matt Reeves’ The Batman (2022), ‘Jyn Erso’s Theme’ from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, music from War for the Planet of the Apes, Jurassic World, and selections from Giacchino’s directorial debut Werewolf By Night. Stripped back and transformed into warm, downtempo arrangements, these reworks reveal new layers of melody and charm, perfect for relaxed listening.

Featuring liner notes by Charles Phoenix, artwork by Luke Insect, and pressed on limited edition color vinyl (also available on CD), Exotic Themes for the Silver Screen – Volume 2 is a stylish and inviting reinterpretation of some of modern cinema’s most recognizable themes.

Common Questions

What does 'pre-order' mean?

A pre-order product is a product which still needs to be produced. So, after your purchase, you won’t receive this product immediately. We strive to send these on the Release Date which you can find on the product page.

Keep in consideration that manufacturing processes can always turn out to be delayed so this Release Date, acts as a guideline.

I ordered a pre-order and an in-stock item. When will they ship?

If you place an order containing both pre-order and in-stock items, your entire order will be shipped on the latest pre-order date of any pre-ordered items. If you prefer not to wait, please place separate orders.

Pre-order items have an (expected) release date noted on the product page. We typically ship these items several days before their release date to ensure that you receive the record on—or as close as possible to—the release date.
