DESCRIPTION

Rye Lane (Original Score) by Kwes. is the soundtrack to Raine Allen-Miller’s acclaimed 2023 romantic comedy set in South London. Following Dom and Yas, two young Londoners who meet after difficult breakups, the film captures the awkwardness, excitement and unexpected possibilities of a new connection. Its vibrant visual style and authentic sense of place are matched by a distinctive score from British producer, composer and artist Kwes.

Released by Warp Records, Rye Lane (Original Score) marks Kwes.’s first feature-film score. Known for his work with artists including Solange, Sampha, Tirzah and Loyle Carner, Kwes brings his experimental production style to a soundtrack that reflects the film’s colourful atmosphere and the emotional intensity of young adulthood.

The music moves between syncopated rhythms, playful electronic textures, soulful melodies and dreamy, atmospheric passages. Its sound mirrors the changing pace of Dom and Yas’s journey, shifting from energetic and unpredictable moments to more intimate reflections as their relationship develops. Drawing inspiration from the film’s South London setting, the score gives Rye Lane a contemporary musical identity that feels both spontaneous and carefully crafted.

Common Questions

What does 'pre-order' mean?

A pre-order product is a product which still needs to be produced. So, after your purchase, you won’t receive this product immediately. We strive to send these on the Release Date which you can find on the product page.

Keep in consideration that manufacturing processes can always turn out to be delayed so this Release Date, acts as a guideline.

I ordered a pre-order and an in-stock item. When will they ship?

If you place an order containing both pre-order and in-stock items, your entire order will be shipped on the latest pre-order date of any pre-ordered items. If you prefer not to wait, please place separate orders.

Pre-order items have an (expected) release date noted on the product page. We typically ship these items several days before their release date to ensure that you receive the record on—or as close as possible to—the release date.
