DESCRIPTION

Look Back (Original Soundtrack) features the moving original score by acclaimed Japanese composer haruka nakamura, bringing the emotional world of Kiyotaka Oshiyama’s animated film to vinyl. Based on the celebrated manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto, creator of Chainsaw Man, Look Back tells the story of Fujino and Kyomoto, two aspiring manga artists whose shared love of drawing connects their lives in unexpected and deeply affecting ways.

At its heart, Look Back is a story about friendship, creativity, ambition and loss. As Fujino and Kyomoto grow through their artistic journeys, the film explores the sacrifices involved in pursuing a passion and the profound impact people can have on one another. Its expressive hand-drawn animation and understated storytelling are complemented by haruka nakamura’s intimate, emotionally resonant music.

The score combines delicate piano melodies, warm strings and acoustic instrumentation to create a sound that feels both fragile and deeply personal. Rather than overwhelming the film’s quiet moments, the music gives space to its emotions, capturing the excitement of creative discovery, the closeness of friendship and the pain of separation. Each composition contributes to the film’s reflective atmosphere, tracing the characters’ journey from childhood inspiration to remembrance.

The Look Back (Original Soundtrack) is a thoughtful addition to any collection of Japanese animation music and contemporary film scores. With haruka nakamura’s understated compositions at its centre, this soundtrack offers a chance to revisit the film’s most poignant emotions through music, celebrating the creative bond between Fujino and Kyomoto and the experiences that shape their lives.

Common Questions

What does 'pre-order' mean?

A pre-order product is a product which still needs to be produced. So, after your purchase, you won’t receive this product immediately. We strive to send these on the Release Date which you can find on the product page.

Keep in consideration that manufacturing processes can always turn out to be delayed so this Release Date, acts as a guideline.

I ordered a pre-order and an in-stock item. When will they ship?

If you place an order containing both pre-order and in-stock items, your entire order will be shipped on the latest pre-order date of any pre-ordered items. If you prefer not to wait, please place separate orders.

Pre-order items have an (expected) release date noted on the product page. We typically ship these items several days before their release date to ensure that you receive the record on—or as close as possible to—the release date.
