DESCRIPTION

God of War Ragnarök is an action-adventure game set in ancient Scandinavia and loosely based on Norse mythology. It features Kratos and his son Atreus as they confront the event of Ragnarök, with gameplay similar to the previous game but with improvements such as additional weapons and playable characters. The game was released worldwide on November 9, 2022, for both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, and received universal acclaim from critics for its storytelling, visuals, and gameplay improvements. It also won numerous awards, including Game of the Year at the Titanium Awards and was a commercial success, selling 5.1 million units in its first week and 11 million copies by early February 2023.

The vinyl soundtrack to this game was released on November 9, 2022, and composed by Bear McCreary, who also worked on the previous game. The soundtrack features Faroese singer Eivør on several tracks, including the title track and "Remembering Faye". Irish folk artist Hozier contributed to the soundtrack on the track "Blood Upon the Snow", which was his first contribution to a video game soundtrack. Hozier was approached by Sony due to his signing with Columbia Records in the US, and he worked with McCreary to find a balance for the song that hit all the thematic notes of the game. Hozier and McCreary performed the song live at The Game Awards on December 8, 2022.

This award-winning soundtrack is available as a premium package and pressed on Blue Smoke colored vinyl. The release comes packaged in a trifold jacket with interior displays of original concept art from game, and two heavyweight cardstock lithographs displaying additional game concept art, and an insert with a note from Game Director, Eric Williams, and Soundtrack Composer, Bear McCreary.

Common Questions

What does 'pre-order' mean?

A pre-order product is a product which still needs to be produced. So, after your purchase, you won’t receive this product immediately. We strive to send these on the Release Date which you can find on the product page.

Keep in consideration that manufacturing processes can always turn out to be delayed so this Release Date, acts as a guideline.

I ordered a pre-order and an in-stock item. When will they ship?

If you place an order containing both pre-order and in-stock items, your entire order will be shipped on the latest pre-order date of any pre-ordered items. If you prefer not to wait, please place separate orders.

Pre-order items have an (expected) release date noted on the product page. We typically ship these items several days before their release date to ensure that you receive the record on—or as close as possible to—the release date.
